Food Runner | Renaissance Hotels:
At Renaissance Hotels, we believe every meal should feel like part of the discovery. Our guests come to us for more than great food—they come for a memorable experience that feels thoughtful, energized, and uniquely local. As a Food Runner, you play an essential role in bringing that experience to life by ensuring each dish is delivered with precision, pace, and personality.
Food Runners are the bridge between the kitchen and the guest experience, helping create seamless service in our restaurant, lounge, and event spaces. Whether delivering freshly prepared dishes, supporting table maintenance, assisting service teams, or ensuring presentation standards are met, this role helps transform every meal into a moment worth remembering.
A successful Food Runner takes pride in timing, attention to detail, and teamwork. You help ensure guests receive their meals exactly as intended while supporting the flow of service during both routine dining periods and high-volume service times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver food and beverage items quickly, accurately, and professionally from the kitchen to guests.
- Confirm plate presentation, modifiers, and table numbers before leaving the pass
- Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, hosts, and culinary teams to ensure smooth service
- Assist with table maintenance, pre-bussing, resetting, and cleanliness standards
- Support side work including stocking service stations, polishing silverware, and replenishing supplies
- Maintain a clean and organized expo line and dining support areas
- Anticipate guest and team needs to create an effortless dining experience
- Uphold Renaissance standards by creating a polished, engaging, and elevated atmosphere
What Makes You Successful:
No matter the role, there are a few things critical to success at Renaissance:
- Creating a safe and welcoming environment.
- Following company policies and food safety standards.
- Maintaining quality, cleanliness, and presentation standards.
- Ensuring professional communication, appearance, and uniform compliance.
- Bringing energy, curiosity, and a guest-first mindset to every shift.
Food Runners should be comfortable being active throughout the shift, including standing and walking for extended periods, navigating busy restaurant environments, and moving across uneven or occasionally slippery surfaces.
This hands-on role requires the ability to:
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 25 pounds independently.
- Move up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Reach overhead and below the knees.
- Bend, twist, stoop, and move quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Read tickets, table numbers, and plate modifiers accurately.
Most importantly, our Food Runners help create the kind of unexpected, memorable dining moments that guests associate with Renaissance Hotels—where every detail contributes to a stay worth talking about.
